Comprehensive Eye Exam

Eva Lamendola, O.D

Dr. Lamendola is a proud native of Ascension Parish and has been serving the Gonzales community since 2007. After practicing for 10 years as an associate with Eye Care Surgery Center, she purchased Accent Vision Care in 2017, continuing her commitment to providing personalized, high-quality eye care to families in the area.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, with minors in French and Chemistry, from Louisiana State University. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. During her clinical training, she completed an Ocular Disease externship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans and a Specialty Contact Lens externship at Eye Care Associates in Metairie

More about Dr. Lamendola

Dr. Lamendola is an active member of both the Optometric Association of Louisiana and the American Optometric Association. She has a longstanding dedication to community service, having previously served as a member of the Gonzales Rotary Club and as past Vice President of the Gonzales Lions Club. She also served on the Louisiana Health Care Commission, contributing to efforts focused on improving the availability, affordability, and delivery of quality healthcare across the state. She currently serves as a board member for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network.

Dr. Lamendola performs comprehensive eye examinations with special expertise in contact lenses and dry eye treatment. She also manages glaucoma and provides both preoperative and postoperative surgical care.

Through the Gonzales Lions Club, she proudly provides eye exams and glasses for individuals in need throughout the Ascension Parish community.

In recent years, Dr. Lamendola has devoted much of her time to leading and growing Accent Vision Care behind the scenes. She focuses on strategic development, administrative leadership, and the integration of advanced technology to continually elevate patient care and enhance the overall patient experience. She has thoughtfully assembled a team of exceptional doctors who share her commitment to delivering high-quality medical care rooted in compassion, integrity, and personalized attention.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Lamendola enjoys reading, traveling to new places, and spending time with her husband, Brad, and their family.

Diana Uong, O.D

Dr. Diana Uong is a native of West Baton Rouge Parish. She graduated from Louisiana State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors.

Dr. Uong completed a private practice externship at Lakeline Vision Source in Austin, TX, and an Ocular Disease and Specialty Contact Lens externship at Cedar Springs Eye Clinic in Dallas, TX.

She is currently a member of the Optometric Association of Louisiana and the American Optometric Association.

Dr. Uong is a comprehensive eye care provider specializing in myopia management, contact lens fittings for soft and specialty contact lenses, ocular surface disease and glaucoma treatment, and preoperative and postoperative surgical management.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places, playing pickleball, and spending time with her family.

Emily DeVillier, O.D

Dr. DeVillier is a native of Roanoke, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, Indiana.

Dr. DeVillier completed two VA Hospital optometry externships in Tallahassee, FL, and Fort Wayne, IN, as well as a primary care externship at the Lawndale Christian Healthcare Center in Chicago, IL. While in optometry school, Dr. DeVillier worked for the Clinical Optics Research Lab (CORL), which performed clinical trials of soft contact lenses heading to the consumer market.

She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Optometric Association of Louisiana. She is active with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH) and Fellowship of Christian Optometrists (FCO).

Dr. DeVillier performs comprehensive eye exams and contact lens fittings, provides preoperative and postoperative surgical care, and has the ability to evaluate and treat dry eye, glaucoma, and many other ocular diseases. She is also a myopia management and low vision specialist.

She and her husband, Gaven, a Brusly, Louisiana native, enjoy running, reading, traveling, playing tennis, and cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers in basketball (and of course LSU in football).

Arthur Alford, O.D.

Dr. Arthur Alford is a native of Brandon, MS. He graduated from Mississippi State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Chicago College of Optometry, graduating with cum laude honors.

Dr. Alford completed a Primary Care/Ocular Disease externship at Tayani Institute in Southern California, an Ocular Disease externship at the Battle Creek VA in Battle Creek, MI, and a Specialty Contact Lens externship at Chicago Cornea Consultants in Chicago, IL.
